What we’re about. . .
R.A. Motto: "We are ambassadors for Christ,"
R.A. Pledge: "As a Royal Ambassador I will do my best: to become a well-informed, follower of Christ; to have a Christlike concern for all people; to learn how to carry the message of Christ around the world; to work with others in sharing Christ; and to keep myself clean healthy in mind and body."
R.A. Scripture Verse: "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation; old things have passed away, and look, new things have come. Now everything is from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that is, in Christ, God was reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed the message of reconciliation to us. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ; certain that God is appealing through us, we plead on Christ's behalf, 'Be reconciled to God.'" (2 Cor. 5:17-20, HCSB)
Our R.A.'s prepared bag lunches to donate to the workers setting up the Dixie Classic Fair. The boys really enjoyed this project!
Our R.A.’s assisted in the renovation of a small home that our church owns. We painted, removed yard debris, and performed light construction work.
The R.A.’s worked with their leaders and other volunteers to put up the safety fence for our annual Fall Festival. It was a great time of fellowship and the boys really enjoyed being responsible for this task. Besides, it’s always good to support the ministries of our church!
The R.A.’s and many volunteers gathered one Friday evening at the church and smoked Boston Butts all through the night. The R.A.’s sold them on Saturday morning and raised over $2,500 which was donated to the church.
Reverse Trick or Treating:
The R.A.'s and G.A.'s joined together, dressed in their BEST Halloween costumes and visited over thirty home-bound senior citizens. The kids knocked on doors and instead of asking for candy, they delivered "Spooktacular" Hugs N' Kisses chocolate candies. It was pretty hard to determine who had more fun, the KIDS or the ADULTS!
The R.A.’s set up a can collection center in our church parking lot. The cans are sold and the proceeds are used to support local mission projects.
Camp Mundo Vista:
Our R.A.'s and G.A.’s have enjoyed a day camp offered at Camp Mundo Vista! This year's day camp allowed the children to learn about Military Chaplains.
Operation Christmas Child:
Together with the G.A.'s, Youth Missions, and Mission Friends we filled more than 70 shoe boxes to send to children around the world.
Visiting Senior Adults:
R.A.'s and G.A.’s delivered Hugs N Kisses chocolate candies to Brighton Gardens and Reynolda Park retirement communities. The children took time to visit, put together a few puzzles and even SANG upon request.
